As part of the government's shovel ready projects initiative following the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Topline was awarded this project by Hastings District Council.

‍We are proud to have been able to employ 12 redeployed workers new to the construction industry. We provided on-the-job training and mentoring and wrap-around pastoral care for our redeployed workers to help make the transition to our industry successful and smooth including a dedicated van to transport them to and from the work site each day.

This project was built solely by our redeployed workers under the watchful supervision of one of our senior site supervisors. Starting with small residential sized sections of footpath and concrete pours these workers learned the skills and techniques required to complete supervised commercial sized pours by the end of the project.

We completed 670 lineal meters of 2.5 meter wide concrete footpath, over 570 cubic meters of excavation work, 80 cubic meters of basecourse, 280 cubic meters of concrete, 1300 meters of timber boxing and used over 1300 timber pegs. All on a busy state highway which required exceptional traffic management.
